Now is this not the biggest pumpkin you have ever seen? This was Matt's largest pumpkin this season. I am very sad to report it split. You can see in this photo, it split right on the bottom. Thankfully, Matt has one more pumpkin that is now this same size. He is estimated this one to be 850 pounds!! Crazy, I know.
After morning for a day, Matt and Eli went to the patch to get the pumpkin and bring it home. Eli is such a good helper. He just observes, sees what needs to be done and dose it, without even being asked. I love this photo of Eli on top of the pumpkin with his lemon-aid.
It was Kali's birthday the night he brought it home. She happend to be visiting. It was so much fun getting to celibrate her Birthday with her.
My boy's were happy to spend some time with their second Mom. They miss her now that she live's in St. George.
This is Matt after we got the pumpkin unloaded. He is holding a can of this stuff he spayed in the crack to keep it from rooting to fast.
We loved spending time with Kali and Payton. It was a good thing they were here when Matt brought the pumpkin home. It took 6 men to un load it.
Un loading it was quite the feat. We had it in a dumping trailer. We first dumped it out, but had to try to keep it from splatting on the driveway. Then scooted it up the driveway to it's final resting place.
It sat on the driveway for about a week. We had all sorts of people come to see it. One night a big gang of bikers road into the neighborhood to see it. They heard about it from someone who lives up here.
Once it's day's were over we let the boy's chop it up to fit it into our garbage can. They had so much fun chopping it up. I loved it, it provided hours of entertainment. It took two garbage cans to hold it all. May our pumpkin rest in peace.
Nicole, that's a hilarious post! I had no idea Matt was so into pumpkins! I agree with you - may it rest in peace! ha!
