Up With Kids

Jane is such a wonderful little actress.  She has been doing up with kids now for three years.  She has had so much fun.  I am always impressed with her ability to memorize things!!  She puts so much enthusiasm into her acting, it makes me so happy to watch her. This year they performed Alice in Wonderland.  Jane's speaking part was the door mouse. She also was a tweedle and a step maiden.

Jane, Annie, Audrey and Kylee

How sweet is Jane third grade teacher, Miss. Sheanshang. She came to see Jane and Audrey.  I know that she was one of Jane's favorite teacher and she is really going to miss her.

Jane with Grandma and Grandpa Garner

It was fun to have Tay and baby Oliver with us at the play.  Taylor has always been so supportive and caring for Jane. I know thing's get a little harder to attend once you start having kids but Tay just brought cute little Oliver along.  I always enjoy seeing them.

Although shy Jane has always loved to perform.  I love remembering her when she was two, in a pair of tap shoes we got from the D.I. and putting on a show for us.

Jane with Grandpa and Grandma McConkie.  Thanks to Grandma McConkie we had fabulouse seats.  She went to the earlyer show and stayed until the later show to save us all seats.  Thanks Grandma!!

Eli and Emily enjoyed watching the show together.  They are such good little buddies.

Big bones

Eli walked inside carrying these bad boys!  I know, what the heck?  He asked me if they were dinosaur bones.  I don't think so, maybe cow.  He found them in the field next to our house.  I guess when you build your house over an old dairy your kids dig up old cow bones.  I was really grossed out, Eli was pumped.

Little slice of heaven

I got to go see Kali, Payton and their new baby Vivienne this week.  I love spending time with Kali.  We could talk for ages or until one of us falls asleep. ;) Ha, Ha, we are both a bit sleep derived these days.  Vivienne is absolutely wonderful.  I was in heaven holding her.  I didn't ever want to put her down.  Kali let me sleep with her both nights I was there.  Seriously, I think I held my breath a few times, I was so caught up in the joy of her.  The last night I was there I got up and fed her a bottle.  I sat there in the silence of the night with her in my arms.  I couldn't help but think of our Father in Heavens plan for us, the things we committed to before we came to this earth and the things we commit to while we are here.  I just love that even though life doesn't ever go the way we expect it to, there is a plan for us.  I agreed to the plan.  That gives me peace when my heart aches. It lifts me up and helps me give life my all.   As if holding a sweet little baby all day wasn't enough to send me over the moon, Kali totally pampered me.  She colored my hair and painted my nails.  The two days were a little slice of heaven. I can't wait to see them again, it won't be soon enough!

Geodes and Pet Day

Hi, this is jane talking
Today at school my Dad brought geodes.  We had lots of fun cracking them open.  It was really hot today, a great day for cracking geodes. We had little rock candy to go with the geodes. Each kid got their very own geode and bag of crystal rock candy.  I liked it when the geodes were so hard that Dad had to crack it open. It is my opinion that today was the best day of the year because it was Friday, I got to sit in the comfy chair all day long, Carson brought his pet bunny, and we got to crack geodes with Dad, we got crystal rock candy and I got a tootsie roll because I was wearing green.

Eli also got to bring Maverick to pet day.

11 Years of Happy

We celebrated our 11th wedding anniversary this week.  We went to Chez Betty in Park city.  The food there never disappoints.  We had a wonderful time together.  My favorite things about birthdays or anniversaries is all the memories that fill my mind.  I loved thinking of Matt this day and all of our experiences together.  I am so thankful for Matt.  He is so patient and loving to me. The thought of being with him for all eternity, well, words can not describe how happy that makes me.

Here are some photos of what we ordered.  Everything was so good.

Tarragon pancakes with creme fraiche and caviar

Lobster tart with lemon sauce

Grilled lamb chop with fingerling potatoes and sauteed vegetables

Salmon over potatoes with bacon broth and green beans

Lemon sorbet

Chocolate torte with a candle to celebrate our anniversary
