Boating

One of my favorite things to do in the summer time is go boating. I love the wind in my face, the sun on my skin, glassy water if we're lucky, oh the list go's on but I need to keep this short. We got to go boating with my Mom at Willard Bay. On of our awesome August activities. The kids had a lot of fun. Jane loved feeding a duck that came by the boat. Eli loved skiing behind the boat on this ski board. After Eli watched Matt do a flip on the wake board he said "I want to do that". I love how Eli wants to be just like his Daddy. Hyrum didn't want to get in the water but he loved ridding on the boat. I think ridding on the boat was Walters favorite part to. He hates getting his life jacket on but as soon as the boat starts to drive he settles right down; it's like magic.

Raspberry Huckleberry Jam

I made raspberry huckleberry jam today. Yummy, I was remembering when I was little and we would visit my Grandma and Grandpa Garner. I would wake up to the smell of Bacon and the sound of breakfast being made. I loved walking into the kitchen to find the table set with toast and raspberry huckleberry jam. I also remember picking huckleberries with my family when we would vacation to Idaho. I loved being out in the woods together I am sure there was some complaining that happened but I only remember the fun of being together and picking one berry and eating the next. I am so happy to have my freezer stocked with yummy jam and reminders of happy memories.

Jordanelle Triathlon

Hooray, I did it!! my time 1hour 42min. About the same time August hit and I decided to cram as much fun in as I possibly could, I thought why not do a triathlon to. Now I know I am crazy. I thought it wouldn't be that hard but I was wrong. After the bike my legs felt like noodles. I started the run and it felt like I hadn't trained at all. So I guess for only having three weeks to pe-pair that's what I get. The swim was 1/2 mile, the bike was 15 miles and the run was a 5k. What a day. My awesome Mom and sister Kali came to my house at 7a.m. so that Matt could come early with me and we wouldn't have to wake the kids up so crazy early. I love having Matt with me, He is a awesome supporter. I think Kali and my Mom are total rock stars! I once again am so grateful for their help and support. I think my kids are grateful that they didn't have to get out of bed early and got to spend time with people they love. It was so much fun to see the kids at the race, all their cute smiling faces made me so happy. I think I have the best support team ever. Matt is always so much fun. I love having him there with me, he puts me in such a great mood. I think he could be a motivational speaker. Eli thought it was pretty cool he got to get his face painted. It was really hot today. It was kind of a long day for the kids, I think they started melting down at the end. I crossed the finish line and Jane and Eli said "yea mom, can we go now." Ah the honisty of a child. I had tons of fun today and felt so loved by my family.

Dino Park

Well the month of August has gone by with lighting speed. Jane started school so early this year, once August started I felt like we needed to cram in as much fun as possible before the summer was over. I have a lot of things to wright about I am hoping I can find the time. Here are some pictures of the kids at the Ogden Dino Park. We went on Aug.11th with the Farmers. It was a great day not to hot not to cold. Hyrum, my little dino man was in heaven. His favorite dino is a triceratops. At the park they have some robots that look very real. He loved them but was still a little bit scared. We took a picnic and played on the playground after we saw all the dinos. It was tons of fun.

Grandma Garners (Moms) Birthday

Aug.3rd was my moms birthday. We surprised her and had everyone come to dinner at camp ground by Kausi Reservoir. It was fun getting to surprise her. She had no idea. Hooray! Matt, the kids and I camped over night with her. It was so much fun watching my kids be excited to sleep in the tent. The next day we went canoeing at Kausi. Hyrum found my swim cap and wanted to wear it. He didn't want to take it off, he fell asleep in it. We had such a great time. My mom is a wonder woman. I love being around her. One of my favorite things about my mom is how independent she is. I think of her loading up me and my brothers and sisters and taking us to Lake Powell by herself. She just gets after things too. She doesn't sit around she works hard until the job is done. I am so grateful for her example.

First Day of School

Today was Janes' first day of 2nd grade. I think she got the fun teacher. It was so much fun to see her excited today. I was happy she got on the bus happy and off the bus happy. I can't believe the first day of 2nd grade is over. I think just yesterday she was looking up at me out of her crib. Man life go's fast, I hear it only gets faster; I guess I better hold on to my shorts.

A few weeks ago we went to this really cute petting zoo in Eden. The Lady that runs it was supper nice. She had baby goats that were only one day old. All the kids got to hold the baby goats. Hyrum didn't want to hold any of the animals, he just wanted to sit in this old carage that was there. Jane loved riding the horse. Eli loved holding and feeding the goats. The baby bunnies, kittens and goats were my favorite. I think I have a thing for babies.
