Fun day

What a fun day we got to have yesterday (1/28/12)
Matt and I took the kids sledding.  I really don't like the snow but I had such a fun time with the kids. It was such a beautiful day.  All the kids were so good, no one wined. I loved sledding down the hill with Walt he would scream with excitement.

Eli, Mr. dare devil himself, found a jump to launch himself off of.  He got so really good air.

Once Walt was done sledding he had fun rolling down the hill.  When he was done he laid face down in the snow for a minuet then he stood up and said "Mom, I tired."

Hyrum was a lot more adventurous than Matt or I expected him to be.  It is so rewarding to see my kids having fun.

To make the day even better my sister Taylor had her baby girl! Hazel, 7lb 7oz and 19inch. long. She looks a lot like her big brother but a bit chubbier and with lots of long hair. Taylor is on of the strongest people I know, I am so blessed to have her for my sister.  Her delivery was a hard one.  I cried to think of the sacrifices we make to bring our children into this world. taylor is a wonderful mother and I am so happy to live close to her right now, that I get to be here when she had this sweet little one.  Zac just joined the army and I know they might not live so close some day so I am trying to fully embrace every moment with them.  Hopefully they won't mind me coming to visit every now and then!

Not a Baby Anymore

Today Walt is three years old!!  The past three years with this amazing little boy has been full of so many challenges and joys.  Walt is so very smart and funny.  He let's me know that he is not a baby anymore although the potty is still to scary.  This past year he has really grown up a lot.  I keep holing on to him like he is my baby.  I never thought I would have a three year old with a pacifier and a bottle.  Tonight I am packed up all the bottles and he has two more pacifiers that I am just going to wait for them to get lost or worn out.  It is so strange for me to get rid of these things when I don't have another baby on the way.  My whole body and spirit ache for a baby.  I don't know if this is something I will ever get over but it sure makes me hold on to every minute with my kids while they are small. Walter has gotten so good at communicating how he is feeling.  Now most of the time instead of tipping over furniture and banging his head into the wall he will tell me he his hungry or mad.  The other day he say, "I am so tired, I have burning eyes" it was a moment I will never forget, I wanted to cry because it was so nice he was not throwing a HUGE fit but at the same time I felt like he is no a baby anymore.  even thought it was 4:30 in the afternoon I let him take a nap. Hyrum has been going to pre-school this year so Walt and I have had some time together just the two of us.  It has been such a great thing, I will really cherish this time with him.  He loves to say the prayer and answer the front door.  His favorite thing right now is tractors.  He thinks about tractors all the time.  We watch for them while we are driving, we watch them on you tube, we watch them on tv and I think he has every tractor you can buy from Target and Walmart and several from Amazon.  Well he got all tractors for his Birthday and his favorite candy bar, crunch.

This cute little face just crakes me up.  When I pull out the camera and say cheese, this is the smile he pulls. I LOVE it!

He has this special love for  Macey Quigley.  He tells me all the time she is his best friend and no one els.  He has been telling me for days now, he only wants her to come to his party.  I was really worried he might throw a fit when others came to the party even though he loves them too. Once he has an idea in his head it is hard to go in a different direction.  He was a very sweet boy for his party.  I think he thanked everyone for his gifts.  It was fun to see him in tractor heaven.  He and Hyrum play a game they call gold rush.  They watch a show on the discovery channel called Gold Rush.  It is about gold diggers in Alaska. Walt loves it for the tractors they use.  He knows most of the names of the equipment.  Today he opened one of his tractors and yelled oh yah!! A D9 dozer!!  Happy Birthday Walt, I love you!!
