Happy Birthday Eli
WOW, Eli is the big 5! Were dose the time go? Eli was very cute today. He was so excited he couldn't stop bouncing, all day. He loves Toy Story right now so he had a blue cake with jelly beans that he picked out, and a Buzz Light year ship and Buzz toy on top. When I asked him what he wanted for his birthday dinner he said "rainbow jello", so rainbow jello we had. It was my first time making it. I think it had some imperfections, as I was removing it from the fridge to do another layer I found it had tipped in the fridge and the orange was all on one side. Good thing Eli is not picky.
Of course he had so much fun opening presents. Jane gave him some Buzz Light year p.j's, he wore them all day. Matt and Hyrum gave him a V-Motin game system and I mad him a quilt out of some of his old p.j's and t-shirts. Eli is such a sweet, fun, exciting person. Hyrum really wanted to open presents to. While Eli was getting ready for church, Hyrum decided to help himself to a present. Eli was so kind when he found out what Hyrum had done. He said "that's okay, I don't care." Matt told him he was really growing up. Eli decided because he is five now he would ware a tie to church. He made it most of Church with it on. I see a light in his tie waring future.
I love when my kids have birthdays. It is so much fun to remember the day they came into this world. I have been thinking of the day Eli was born. It was such a awesome day. I loved everything about it. Eli's birth was a very peaceful birth. It is such a special time of year too. everything seamed so quiet and still. I was thinking of Mary and Jesus and when I held Eli and looked into his eyes my heart felt like it might explode. I am so grateful to have such wonderful memories and even more grateful to have such a wonderful son. I love you Eli. You are such a bright joy in my life.

Oh So Creative
I had so much fun making super cute cake stands and platters with my mom this last week. We got plates and other odd things like candle holders, goblets and vases from the D.I and Salvation Army. Then we brain stormed added a little glue and came up with some way cute things. I always love doing crafty things with my mom. She is so talented that way. She has fantastic ideas and great taste. She has lit the fire inside me and helped me channel my own creativity. I have great memories of staying up late to help her make some thing or re-arrange a room. Ah, good times. Jane is very creative as well. I love seeing what she comes up with. I also really enjoy our chit-chats over a craft.
Fun In The Snow
It looks like we are going to have a white Christmas. We have been having a lot of fun in the snow that has recently piled on top of us here in Mountain Green. Matt and Tyler Quigly brought their tractor home to pull the kids around in a sled. It was so much fun.
Our neighbors may have built the biggest snow man ever. Matt and I just hope it doesn't fall over on any of the kids. yikes. Happy snow days everyone.

Dino Boy
Hyrum is our little dinosaur lover. If it has to do with dinosaurs he is all over it. He has dino p.j's; a different pair for almost every night of the week, dino sun glasses, a big basket full of plastic dinos; he drags them around the house all day and sleeps with them ALL every night. Now that we are reciving a lot of toy catalogs do to the holiday he spends a good part of his day searching them for dinos. One night he got out of his bed to and told me he needed to sleep with his catalog. We have so many laying around the house I didn't know which one he was talking about. I found every one but the right one. Everyone I would give him he would tell me "that is not my dino catalog" finally we found it in the play room. It was missing the cover and practically falling apart. After holding his breath and shaking his fists with excitement, he said"that's my catalog" and returned to his bed. This whole fetish started last year when received The Land Before Time. When April rolled around he had a dinosaur birthday and he's be a total dino fan ever since. I am posting some pictures of Hyrum. One he is sporting the dino glasses, dino p.j's and he put his helmet on just to be extra fun. The next one is on his 2nd birthday in yet another pair of dino p.j's and his dino cake. Next is this Halloween in his spike tail costume. The next one he is playing dinos at the Quigley's and the last but not least, some of his dinos that he had tucked in bed with him. Rock on little dino man, Rock on.
